Marcel Barthel a.k.a. Ludwig Kaiser’s pre-trial hearing.
There is an update on the case involving WWE talent Marcel Barthel a.k.a. Ludwig Kaiser/El Grande Americano. He was arrested in Florida on a battery charge following an altercation with another male.
Court records show that a pre-trial hearing for Barthel is set for July 16th, 2026. Judge Andrew Cameron approved a motion to allow Barthel to travel within the USA and internationally during the trial.
Barthel, as El Grande Americano, is set to headline AAA’s Noches de Los Grandes show on May 30th in a Mask versus Mask match against Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable).
Fightful Select provided additional information about the arrest of Barthel. A story began to circulate that the alleged victim made a remark about ICE and directed it at Barthel’s girlfriend, Lucha Libre AAA backstage interviewer and correspondent, Andrea Bazarte.
Fightful spoke to a number of WWE sources who believe that the story was planted within the company. AAA commentator and WWE Hall of Famer J.B.L. (John Bradshaw Layfield) expressed his opinion that he believes that aspect of the story was made up.
