Preston Vance Says Brodie Lee Jr. (-1) Is Already Pitching 'Really Good' Ideas For 10 Years From Now

The only person acceptable to replace Brodie Lee at the helm of The Dark Order is his son, says Preston Vance.

Brodie Lee sadly passed away suddenly shortly after Christmas in 2020. In the time since then, AEW and all of The Dark Order have opened their arms to Brodie’s family, especially his son, Brodie Lee Jr.

Brodie, preferably known as “-1” when he does get the chance to perform in front of a live audience, has signed a contract that can go into effect when he turns 18, should he still choose to get into professional wrestling. Right now, he is still as in love with wrestling as ever and, according to his mom, even prefers going to AEW events over Disney World.

Recently, Bray Wyatt was released from WWE, and fans on social media began to fantasy book the idea of Bray Wyatt, who used to be the leader of the Wyatt Family which included Brodie Lee, coming to AEW and taking over the helm of The Dark Order.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Battleground Podcast, Preston Vance, Number 10 of The Dark Order, candidly stated that he believes the group doesn't need any leader unless it is Brodie’s son taking his rightful place a decade from now.

“Yeah, I just, I just go with the flow, man, and focus on my job. So this is one thing I treat wrestling -- this is like my dream job. But at the end of the day, it's still a job, you know? You kind of just show up, do what you're told to the best of your ability, and leave. Yes, I can just go with the flow and do my own thing," he said when asked about rumors about new talent coming into AEW.

"As far as me personally, I mentioned this on a radio interview the other day, I don't want a new leader of The Dark Order. In my eyes, you'll never replace Brodie. So I definitely don't want a new leader of The Dark Order... Maybe one day, the only one that would make sense and it is very long-term storytelling is if his son [were to lead the group] 10 years down the road.”

Continuing on, Preston would say that Brodie Lee Jr. is always pitching ideas for many years down the road for when he's able to get into the business, specifically booking a match and a full heel for Preston, where he has to come in and set things straight.

“He is always FaceTiming me. ‘Hey, man, I have this idea for like, eight years down the road… You're no longer part of The Dark Order, that's no longer a thing. You're doing your own thing. You don't have the mask. Maybe you're like a piece of shit heel now and I come back, you know, 10 years down the road, and I slide you the mask just like my dad did and now you're back with me.’ I'm like, ‘Yeah, that's actually a really good idea.’”

For now, Brodie will have to wait for those moments but the offer is on the table.
