QT Marshall: CM Punk And I Talked About Taking Me Off Of AEW Collision, We Agreed

QT Marshall comments on getting removed from AEW Collision during CM Punk's time with the company.

In 2023, QT Marshall had a prominent run on AEW programming, as he led the QTV stable, which also featured Powerhouse Hobbs. The stable was later dropped, and WrestlePurists reported in November 2023 that, per people in AEW, CM Punk did not want him on AEW Collision, as he did not see QTV as a productive part of Hobbs' presentation. The report noted that the situation led negatively impacted Marshall's relationship with Tony Khan. Marshall officially left AEW after he resigned in November, but he returned to the company at the beginning of 2024.

In an interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, QT Marshall shared his thoughts on the end of CM Punk's time in AEW, and he brought up how they had talked about taking him off of television.

"I always liked him backstage. I know there were reports that he kept me off of TV, and we actually talked about it. We agreed. Neither of us wanted me to be Will Hobbs’ manager. Then I also had to work Saturdays and Wednesdays. So when him and I spoke about the idea that he didn’t want me with Will Hobbs, I was like yeah, let’s sign me up for that one because I’d rather only work on Wednesdays," Marshall said.
