QT Marshall Shares That Tony Khan Was Initially Against Idea Of Influencers Being Part Of AEW, Changed His Mind After Meeting Big Boom AJ

Marshall stated that it was a ‘hard sell.’

All Elite Wrestling’s 2025 Full Gear pay-per-view is taking place on November 22nd. One of the advertised matches is Big Boom A.J. teaming with Q.T. Marshall to take on RPG VICE (Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero).

The Costco Guys (Big Boom A.J. & Big Justice), along with Q.T., are making the media rounds to promote the bout. They stopped past Busted Open, and Q.T. shared that initially, AEW President Tony Khan was not game for the idea of influencers being in his company.

Marshall added that once Khan met The Costco Guys, he changed his mindset.

“That was the biggest selling point to Tony (Khan) when I first pitched it. He was very adamant about… ‘No influencer. We’re wrestling, we’re wrestling,’ you know? And it was like, he’s a wrestler I’ve wrestled with,” Marshall said about Big Boom AJ. “And it was like, okay, now he kind of settled down a bit and once he met him and once he saw the work ethic that he had, from then, it’s been great but it was a hard sell honestly.”

During the 2024 Full Gear Zero Hour, A.J. scored a win over Marshall in a singles match that Big Justice was involved in. The upcoming bout will be AJ’s fourth in AEW.
