R-Truth shares how he was feeling in the wake of finding out that he would not be re-signed by WWE in the middle of last year.
In the middle of last year, R-Truth would make an announcement that he had been released from his contract with the company. While it would turn out to be that WWE were not planning on re-signing him when his deal at the time expired, it still sent shockwaves throughout the industry, and Truth would later be re-signed thanks to a swelling of crowd support in the wake of his announcement.
While speaking during the second episode of WWE: Unreal’s second season, Truth shared when he found out he would be exiting the company.
“I was taking my daughter to the dance that day, I got the call I was released, and I put the tweet out. It was gut wrenching. My phone was blowing up. ‘Holy shit I got like a thousand text messages.’ ‘What the hell?’ I wasn’t expecting all that.”
Elsewhere in the same episode, Rhea Ripley and Cody Rhodes both shared their initial reaction to the news. You can read more about that here.
