RAF Heavyweight Champion Wyatt Hendrickson has his eyes on a wrestling matchup with The Paul Brothers.
While both Paul brothers have established themselves in the world of professional wrestling and boxing in recent years, at their core, the brothers are accomplished amateur wrestlers in their own right. That being said, one of the top wrestlers in the world wants to face both brothers, even if it happens at the same time.
While speaking to The Schmo in a new interview, Real American Freestyle Heavyweight Champion Wyatt Hendrickson was asked who he wants to meet on the mats in RAF, with Hendrickson targeting Jake Paul in the wake of his boxing loss to Anthony Joshua this past weekend.
“You know, the biggest thing I’ve been thinking about is I don’t think anyone wants to challenge me. That’s the biggest problem- is going to be trying to find a new opponent. But I will say I did log on this morning and watch some replays of the fights last night. Jake Paul, he was shooting a bunch of double legs. I’m like, dude, you belong probably trying to wrestle better than boxing because, man, I was like, you just want to keep shooting. Obviously his brother, you know, he’s doing some real American wrestling, but he needs to bring himself over and do some Real American Freestyle. I know they’ve wrestled in high school. Let’s get them back in the practice room, get them over here on the mat, because I want a piece of them.”
When asked which of the Paul brothers he’d want first, Hendrickson suggested taking them both on at the same time.
“You know, I honestly, I think Logan would be a good matchup for me, but Jake’s notorious for wanting to fight on bigger guys, so I mean, I’ll take on both of them at once if I have to. I’ve done it before, I’ll do it again.”
