Raquel Rodriguez Is Happy To See Dakota Kai Back In WWE, Hopes To Reunite With Her One Day

Raquel Rodriguez talks about her reaction to Dakota Kai's return to WWE.

Raquel Rodriguez and Dakota Kai formed a very special bond during their time together on NXT. Initially, Raquel was a bodyguard to Dakota following her heel turn at WarGames 2019. Eventually, Dakota and Raquel split and feuded with one another before coming together to once again win the WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Championship during WrestleMania 38 weekend. They would immediately lose the Tag Team Titles and Dakota Kai would be released shortly thereafter while Raquel was moved over to Friday Night SmackDown.

Dakota returned to WWE at SummerSlam alongside Bayley and IYO SKY and now, Raquel Rodriguez is giving her thoughts on the return.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo at the WrestleMania 39 Launch Party in California, Raquel says that she's so happy to see her friend back in WWE but is sad that they are not on the same brand currently. However, she is hopeful for a reunion one day.

“I'm so excited and happy for her because she is an absolute superstar,” she said. “The things that that girl does, the way that she just moves, and walks with confidence. I learned so much from her just being under her wing for so long, you know what I mean? She's been just a big part of my career as well. So seeing her on Raw just makes me absolutely happy. Am I a little bit sad that she's not on SmackDown? Yes, but you know what, she's out there and she's killing it, and maybe somewhere down the road, we will reunite at some point, I hope.”

Raquel can be seen in action on most Friday nights during Friday Night SmackDown. Dakota Kai will have her first WWE Premium Live Event match at WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3. She will be in six-woman tag team action. Learn more here.
