Reby Sky On If Matt Hardy Will Drop 'Broken' Gimmick, TNA Negotiations

With reports indicating The Hardys are not re-signing with Impact Wrestling, Reby Sky, Matt Hardy's wife, said he will not abandon the "Broken" gimmick.

In an interview with Dave LaGrecca of Busted Open, Reby commented that Matt loves his current gimmick too much to abandon it now that it appears he will be a free agent.

"(Matt) is not about to let that go, I can confirm that for sure," Reby said. "It's kind of his baby, his brainchild. He took such a risk with it, even I was telling him, dude, this accent's gotta go. Everyone was like, 'you're crazy, this is dumb, it's insane.' He kept on with it, it kept evolving. It's his baby, so there will be 'Broken' wherever there is Matt Hardy."

Reby said there's no chance Impact and her husband will mend their relationship fast enough to have a contract extension by the time his current deal is finished. She pointed out that several things needed to be changed in the contracts that "were slipped in there as if we wouldn't notice at the last minute."

Other comments she made during the interview include the company was the perfect situation for the whole family because they could travel together on a somewhat limited schedule. She said that things have changed and it wouldn't have been the same perfect situation if they re-signed and said that the group should not be chasing contracts in this manner and were feeling unimportant. Reby indicated that TNA's new regime didn't treat contractors as well interpersonally as Dixie Carter did.

"It's just all of this stuff with someone, as long as they've been in the business has never had to deal with, should never have to deal with," Reby said.
