Reggie Says His Character In WWE Is True To Who He Is In Real Life, Wants To Continue To Stay Humble

Reggie is staying true to himself as he climbs through the ranks of WWE.

Reggie has become one of the regular characters on WWE television and is currently the WWE 24/7 Champion. As far as the details of his character, there aren't many. Reggie started out as the sommelier for Carmella and quickly transitioned into several different roles in the women's division all while staying sharply dressed and utilizing his acrobatic background from his days of performing with Cirque du Soleil.

The Elite: We're Getting AEW Back To What It Was Supposed To Be

Speaking on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin, Reggie would say that this character is 100% who he is as a person and not a lot of it is coming from a specific directive from creative.

"Actually, pretty much 100% of that character is me. It's quite funny because I didn't have much direction. When I first was introduced to SmackDown. I was just the sommelier and whatnot and they didn't tell me how to act or what to do. There was just do certain things with Carmela and whatnot. But come to find out, I actually spoke French. So what's the school in Montreal, I traveled around friends. I love fashion. I love suits. So, I just put all of those things into that character and it worked so well."

When asked if he is looking for more of a push beyond his current placement as the WWE 24/7 Champion, Reggie would just stay humble and say that he is going to do what got him there in the first place and that's taking every day as it comes and doing the best with what is presented to him for his character.

“I mean, I take things day by day. It's not in my control. I'm not behind the wheel, I am going to do what got me here and that's just taking it day by day, and doing what I'm asked to do. Whatever they put in front of me, I'm just going to try to execute executed the best that I can. That's all you can really ask for in this business. In any business you once I start, like, I don't want to become big-handed on one night and say, I want to do this, I want to do that and well, not. Most definitely they do take my ideas and consideration and a lot of the stuff that we're doing. It's coming from me and Truth and Tozawa and things like that, which is great. But I just want to remain humble. Like, whatever's going to happen is going to happen. It's out of my control. My life has told me that, like, it's like, a bull is this close to my head flying past. Like, if it was meant for those bulls to hit me, they would have hit me. I didn't do anything. To make them not hitting me it was just life is life. So, I'm just gonna ride this wave right now and I'm open to anything. I have to do it the best that I can when it's presented to me.”

Elsewhere on the same podcast, Reggie opened up about learning from his time in the women's division. Read more here.
