Renee Young 'Was Really Upset' When Talking Smack Got Canceled

Count former co-host Renee Young among those who miss WWE's post-Smackdown recap and interview show, Talking Smack.

Appearing on a recent episode of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Young talked at length about how she misses getting to do the show, which she co-hosted most of the time with Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan before WWE canceled it last year.

"I was really upset to lose Talking Smack. Working with Bryan was really great too. That was such an unknown thing for me when we got paired up to do that," Young said, adding, "He's super talented at everything he does, as everyone that listens to this would know. Having him in that host role, who knew how great he was going to be at that?"

Bryan built a reputation for saying off-the-cuff, apparently unscripted things on a regular basis on Talking Smack.

"He also had that, I don't give a s--- attitude, which just made the show so much better," Young said. "I know one of my strengths is reacting to the ridiculous things people are saying so when he's going off the rails, I'm like, yes! I'm here for this! Let's make it happen! I'm egging him along."

The show probably was most famous for a confrontation between Bryan and The Miz.

"Being able to have the stuff with Miz on there and having people making their own spotlights as well and being able to take that situation and spin it into something that's going to work for them," Young said. "We were definitely bringing stuff along, creating new moments. Even on Raw 25, Miz still walks out and wants to stare Daniel Bryan in the face and all that stuff stems from Talking Smack."
