Renee Young is less than a one month into her full-time gig as Raw announcer, but that's not stopping her from potentially looking ahead.
In a new interview with Mirror Sport's Neil Docking, Young began by praising the comeback and openess of her good friend Paige.
"She is so open about everything, every part of her life, and that is what makes her so great on a show like Total Divas. She does not hide a single part of herself and I think that makes her so endearing to everybody who is a big fan of hers."
When asked if she would like to follow in Paige's footsteps and become the general manager of the Raw brand one day, Young stated that she would. If only to get back at a certain rival who takes aim at her and husband Dean Ambrose any chance he gets.
"Would I like to do that? Oh my God, actually, I would love to do that. The way that I'm watching Paige navigate being the general manager of SmackDown, it looks like it it's so much fun," said Young. "Who gets to yell at Samoa Joe and kind of put a little bit of fear in his eyes? Not a lot of people get to do that. If that was an opportunity that came down my way, I would definitely wear that hat, that would be really, really fun."
The rivalry between Joe and the Young-Ambrose family started last December when Ambrose tore his triceps in a brawl with Joe. Since then, whenever they've appeared on-screen together, Joe can't help but dig the knife in.
On the SummerSlam pre-show, Joe congratulated Young on becoming a two household income again with Ambrose's return.
If Renee were to become Raw GM, trading for Samoa Joe might be her first move.
