AJ Styles reportedly put out feelers regarding a potential move outside WWE prior to his last re-signing with the promotion.

Earlier this year, Styles signed an extension with the company to remain with them until February of 2026, however his future after that point remains unclear – although Styles has previously spoken about retiring from the industry at age 50.

Jon Alba of SI’s The Takedown now reports that prior to his extension, AJ had reportedly sent out feelers about the possibility of appearing elsewhere, in particular, AJ would receive a lot of responses from the convention circuit, with it being claimed that it was mutual interest or exploratory for Styles. It is unclear if AJ also reached out regarding possible wrestling opportunities or was solely looking at conventions.

Styles most recently competed on last week’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, where he would take on Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Styles would comment after the bout about receiving yet another massive reactions from fans in France. You can read more about that here.

In addition, Styles has had a retro version of himself added to WWE 2K25, as a persona card in MyFaction. The version of AJ also features his TNA theme song, ‘Get Ready To Fly’. You can read more about that here.
