Report: Big Names Talked About For Special Referee Role At Survivor Series

There are a few big names being talked about for a potential special referee role at Survivor Series.

The Wrestling Observer reported on Wednesday night that John Cena has been discussed as a potential referee. He’s currently off the road filming the Transformers spinoff based on Bumblebee. It’s possible that this could lead to John Cena challenging Jinder Mahal for the WWE title, which would make sense given that Mahal has called out Cena for a WrestleMania match.

Two other big names discussed for the role are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Stone Cold Steve Austin. This would depend on if they are available and if they are interested, especially in The Rock’s case as he has a very busy movie schedule.

It’s most interesting because both Steve Austin and The Rock in the past have been linked to Lesnar in matches that never took place, as Austin and Brock teased a match when Austin interviewed him on his podcast, and The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar never happened due to The Rock suffering a series of injuries in him WrestleMania 29 match against John Cena that has made movie studios wary of him wrestling again.

Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar is set to place at Survivor Series on November 19 in Houston, Texas.
