Report: BJ Whitmer Resigns From ROH Over Unhappiness With Management

Unhappy with current management, BJ Whitmer has split from Ring Honor.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Whitmer resigned from his position this afternoon as he had been unhappy with management for months. Whitmer had doing color commentary, training at the ROH Dojo and working as an operations manager for the company.

Additionally, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Whitmer sent an email to members of the ROH roster stating his decision to leave had been "brewing since September" when he felt he was "treated with utter disrespect" by company management.

Johnson goes on to report that Whitmer was invited guest coach at WWE Performance Center, but had to decline when ROH stepped in.

Whitmer started as a wrestler in ROH, working his first match in January 2003 at the Revenge on the Prophecy event. He left in March 2008 and retired from professional wrestling shortly after. He returned to the ring in March 2011 and rejoined ROH in February 2012.

He last wrestled for ROH in February 2017, teaming with Punishment Martinez to defeat War Machine (known as the War Raiders in NXT). During his wrestling career with ROH, Whitmer captured the Tag Team Titles on four separate occasions.

Along with working backstage for ROH, Whitmer occupied a backstage role at All In this past September.
