Report: Byron Saxton Back As Full-Time WWE Raw Announcer

On Monday's episode of WWE Raw, Byron Saxton was back in booth alongside Tom Phillips and Jerry Lawler.

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Saxton will be back at the announce desk full-time on WWE Raw. Saxton previously worked as an announcer on WWE Raw from 2015 through 2017. Most recently, he was part of the SmackDown announce team alongside Tom Phillips and Corey Graves when SmackDown aired on Tuesdays.

Saxton was signed as a wrestler in 2007. He worked in FCW before transitioning to an announcers role in 2009 on the ECW brand.

Saxton's return marks the second change to the Raw announce team over the last week as Tom Phillips officially replaced Vic Joseph as the lead play-by-play announcer for Raw on Monday. When WWE had its premiere week in September 2019, Joseph, Dio Maddin, and Jerry Lawler were heralded as the new Raw announce team moving forward. Maddin was written off after an attack by Brock Lesnar and replaced by Samoa Joe as he healed up from a thumb injury. Joseph was replaced by Phillips at WWE Royal Rumble. Lawler remains alongside Phillips and Saxton.
