Dark Side of the Ring is set to cover a former WWE World Tag Team Champion.
VICE’s Dark Side of the Ring series has covered The Von Erich family’s series of tragic deaths, the story of Jimmy Snuka and Nancy Argentino, the death of Owen Hart, Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth's turbulent relationship, and the tragic Benoit family double murder-suicide.
Per a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the story of Chris Kanyon will be told during the third season of Dark Side of the Ring. In the early 1990s, Kanyon was a WWE enhancement talent before moving over to WCW and competing under his real name and as Mortis.
During the WWE Invasion angle from 2001, Kanyon captured the WWE Tag Team Championship with Diamond Dallas Page and even competed against Kane and The Undertaker in a steel cage match at the 2001 SummerSlam event.
Later in his life, Kanyon came out as gay and sadly took his own life in 2010. Learn more about his life and the impact his career had on others at this link.
Season 3 of Dark Side of the Ring is also scheduled to feature episodes about Brian Pillman, Nick Gage, WCW’s Collision in Korea event from 1995, The Smith family including Jake Roberts, Sam Houston, and Rockin' Robin, and even more stories.
Fightful will report any new details about the series as they're made available.
