REPORT: Details About AEW’s Video Game Future

Details were put out about the future of AEW Games.

A new video was uploaded to the Mike Straw Media YouTube channel, and it was centered around the future of AEW Games, specifically the 2023 Fight Forever video game.

Straw stated that, according to sources who are privy to the information, Fight Forever was a massive loss for AEW. The company lost at least $30 million that they had to mark down for the game. That was due to development delays or deadlines being missed, which led to internal and external delays.

Mike Straw initially reported that the original timeline for Fight Forever to be released was in 2022. The game did not come out until the summer of 2023. Straw added that it got about half of what AEW’s expectations were.

He did not have the exact numbers, but was told:

“We sold about half of what we were expecting, leading to a big reason why we lost so much.”

Straw added that AEW is interested in revisiting Fight Forever, but that would be happening way down the line. Sources he spoke to said nothing is imminent right now.

There were rumblings that AEW was in conversations with a third party about a potential licensing deal. Straw reached out to AEW sources and was told that they didn’t “f*cking know anything about it.”
