Report: WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann Has Exited The Company

A longtime WWE physician reportedly exits the company.

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, WWE's Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann has exited the company. Amann reportedly gave his notice "some time ago" and retired from his position in September.

He had been with the company since May 2008. He oversaw the medical care of the other ringside physicians and athletic trainers on staff for WWE and NXT. He is still listed on the WWE corporate website.

Amann famously unsuccessfully sued CM Punk and Colt Cabana for defamation based on comments made by Punk on Cabana's podcast where Punk stated Amann was responsible for Punk suffering a Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) staph infection and blamed Amann for providing medical treatment that caused a large lump on Punk’s back to worsen. In 2018, a jury ruled in favor of Cabana and Punk.

Fightful will provide more details on Amann's exit from WWE if and when they are known.
