Report: EVOLVE Wrestling Has No Plans To Run Events Moving Forward

EVOLVE Wrestling has no plans to run events moving forward according to a private Facebook message.

PWTorch was able to obtain, and confirm the validity of, a private Facebook message board post sent by EVOLVE Vice President of talent relations, creative, and marketing Gabe Sapolsky to the EVOLVE roster. In the post, Sapolsky reportedly told the group that he was going to eliminate the private Facebook group as there are no plans for EVOLVE to run any events going forward.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported last Thursday that EVOLVE has had major financial issues since canceling its WrestleMania week events. There have been unconfirmed reports that EVOLVE had sold its tape library, and possibly more, to WWE. Both WWE and EVOLVE have neither confirmed nor denied those reports. Sources told PWTorch that the rumors of WWE buying EVOLVE and WWN (EVOLVE's parent company) ceasing to exist are not true.

According to PWTorch, WWN will continue to operate, but for now, EVOLVE will cease operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sapolsky reportedly told the roster in his Facebook post that this is just a fork in the road and encouraged talent to stay in touch.

WWE and EVOLVE have had a strong working relationship over the years with WWE/NXT wrestlers appearing on EVOLVE events and EVOLVE airing its 10th Anniversary event on WWE Network.
