Report: Excalibur To Return To AEW Dynamite On 8/26

Excalibur set to return to the AEW commentary booth.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Excalibur will be back in the commentary booth for AEW Dynamite on August 26. Excalibur has been absent since July 29 with Taz replacing him in the booth alongside Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross. He was reportedly in Jacksonville for the recent shows, but wasn't used.

No official reason was given for his absence. The timing of his removal coincides with old footage of him using the N-word during a PWG show in 2003 resurfacing online. Excalibur used the slur during a promo against Human Tornado, who has said he gave Excalibur permission to use the word as it was part of an ongoing storyline.

Over the years, Excalibur has apologized and expressed regret over using the slur.

Kevin Owens was also on camera using the slur, but WWE reportedly did not take action as they were previously aware of the situation. Owens has also apologized and expressed regret over using the slur in interviews over the years.
