Report: Georgia Championship Wrestling Planning Revival

Georgia Championship Wrestling is set to return on October 3 and they already have big plans moving forward.

Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling reports Georgia Championship Wrestling is looking to make a full revival beginning with the October 3 event. Thompson spoke to promoter Chris Nelms who told him that the goal for the revival is to create a territory-style group where GCW will work with four-to-five different promotions in Georgia under the Georgia Championship Wrestling banner.

Grady Odum is the owner of GCW while Nelms and Tim Rice will occupy executive roles along with promoting and booking.

A Georgia Championship would be created under the banner and be defended across multiple promotions in the state.

The promotion is looking to secure an internet distribution or local television deal, but highlights from the October 3 show will be present on Facebook and YouTube. The company is also looking to secure more dates beyond the October 3 event, though nothing has been announced at this time.
