Report: Goldberg Made Over $1 Million For WWE Super ShowDown Match

Goldberg got paid to go to Saudi.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Goldberg was paid over $1 million for his main event match against The Undertaker at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. The report states, "Goldberg’s figure for the one match was considerably more than his one year contract when he came to WWE in 2003-04 ($1 million downside for eight dates per month), but less than his WCW contract ($3 million per year) when he was at his peak."

It is unknown how much The Undertaker was paid for the match.

The main event came under heavy criticism as Goldberg knocked himself out on a post spot, leading to a series of errors at the end of the match. Goldberg was spiked on a Tombstone spot, Goldberg dropped Undertaker on his head for the Jackhammer, and the two men couldn't pull off the Tombstone reversal spot, causing them both to fall over. The match ended with Undertaker pinning Goldberg following a chokeslam.

Goldberg will get his shot at redemption this Sunday when he faces Dolph Ziggler at WWE SummerSlam.
