Report: Great Muta To Be Inducted Into 2023 WWE Hall Of Fame

The Great Muta is reportedly headed to the WWE Hall of Fame.

PWInsider reports The Great Muta will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023. Great Muta was the alter ego of Keiji Muto.

WWE will reportedly start making Hall of Fame announcements on the March 10 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The Hall of Fame ceremony is set to take place on March 31 following WWE SmackDown.

Though Muta never wrestled for WWE, he did take part in the NJPW & WWF Champions Series in 1985 in Japan and often competed for the NWA and WCW. Muta was a former WCW Tag Team Champion and had a legendary rivalry with Sting over the NWA World Television Championship.

Muta also challenged for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions.

Muta's last singles match came against Shinsuke Nakamura, who is signed to WWE, on January 1. His last match as Great Muta took place on January 22 when he teamed with Sting & Darby Allin against AKIRA, Hakushi & Naomichi Marufuji.
