Report: Harold Meij Makes $851,000 Per Year As NJPW President

In the latest Bushiroad financial report, Harold Meij's salary was listed at $851,000 per year for his work as New Japan Pro Wrestling President. The report also has Meij making $212,000 per year for his work on the Bushiroad board of directors. In total, Meij makes $1,063,000 per year. The financial report covered the months of August to October.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports some talent "surprised" at how much Meij makes as he is making more than some main event talent. It was not specified how much main event talent is making.

At the end of 2018 Bushiroad financial report, Meij's salary was listed as $691,000 per year, though it was unclear if that number came from his role as NJPW President or Director of Bushiroad. The 2018 financial report also listed Meij as owning 452,000 shares of Bushiroad stock, which comes out to roughly $5 million.

Before serving as NJPW President, Meij was Senior Vice President of Coca-Cola Japan and President and CEO of Tomy. Meij was announced as the President of NJPW in May 2018. He is the first non-Japanese president of the promotion.
