Report: IMPACT Wrestling Made A Strong Pitch To Bring In Kurt Angle For Bound For Glory

IMPACT Wrestling was looking to make a big move for Bound For Glory.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports IMPACT had the idea to bring Kurt Angle in for Bound For Glory and made a strong pitch to bring him back. However, talks ended up faltering.

It is unknown in what capacity Angle would have appeared.

IMPACT had a variety of legends on its Bound For Glory pre-show including The Rock, Mick Foley, and Bret Hart as they made cameo appearances to help honor Ken Shamrock as he was inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame.

Angle wrestled what is considered to be his retirement match at WrestleMania 35, losing to Baron Corbin. He went on to become an agent for WWE but was released in April as part of the company-wide cutbacks due to COVID-19.

Angle wrestled in IMPACT for a decade before leaving in 2016. During his time in the company, he held the IMPACT World Title, Tag Team Titles, and X-Division Title. He was inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame in 2003.
