Report: IMPACT Wrestling Prevented Brian Cage From Appearing At AEW Double Or Nothing

IMPACT World Champion nearly showed up at Double or Nothing.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage was set to appear at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing on May 25. However, when IMPACT officials found out about his potential appearance, they contacted Cage and informed him that his contract with IMPACT would not allow him to appear for AEW.

Cage is allowed to work for other Independent companies and has appeared at Bar Wrestling, wXw, RevPro, Beyond Wrestling and other promotions over the past couple of months. He was recently sidelined with a back injury suffered at IMPACT Rebellion on Apr. 28 but returned to the ring on May 12 and has worked a handful of matches since.

He is scheduled to defend his IMPACT World Title against Michael Elgin at Slammiversary XVII on July 7.

As for why Tommy Dreamer was allowed to appear in the Casino Battle Royale despite working for IMPACT, PWInsider reports that Dreamer is not under any kind of contract with IMPACT.
