Edge ultimately won the match but there were some who criticized the match and the former WWE Champion recently acknowledged those criticisms when he was on Corey Graves' "After The Bell" podcast, saying that he doesn't care much for those kinds of opinions.

"I've heard there's feedback that it was too long. All of the feedback I've gotten personally has been all positive. When I have Bret Hart call me and tell me that he loved it because it looked like a fight, I don't care what anybody else says from that point on because his opinion to me has more weight than absolutely everyone, anywhere. Nobody is going to top his opinion to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's wrestling, it's art. Randy and I have broad shoulders and we can weather the weight of a minuscule militia of malcontents who will want to complain about everything. Complain about the length of a wrestling match during a pandemic. Really? They're the same people who are going to complain that Bill and Brock go for four minutes. There's a segment of people who enjoy not enjoying things. I focus on positives. The fact that after nine years I was able to claw my way back here and I'm healthy enough to do this and go 40-minutes and take a DDT into the bed of a truck with a triple fusion, man, I came home, once I got out of quarantine, I hugged Beth and the girls and nothing is going to dull my shine at this point. I'm on top of the world," Edge said.

Edge and Orton went nearly 40 minutes in a match that looked more like a fight. And according to Edge, the original plan was much different than the final product.

"We had a lot of things we had to adapt around, on top of doing [the match] within the empty arena. The time that we filmed it didn't coordinate with the ideas that we had. We find that out on the day, hours before. We had to change everything. And that's truly what you saw, a 40-minute audible. I'm proud of that. Without uttering two words to each other, we were able to do that," Edge said.
