Report: Jeff Cobb Comes To Terms On Lucha Underground Release

The Monster Matanza has been released. Jeff Cobb is done with Lucha Underground.

After word that Lucha Underground was threatening companies with a cease & desist for using Willie Mack, reports emerged suggesting that several members of the roster were gaining legal advice to get out of their deals. According to Lucha Central, Jeff Cobb/Matanza has gained his release.

The current ROH Television Champion and NEVER Openweight Champion saw the company he formerly worked for in Lucha Underground try to block him from working anywhere else. However, terms for his release were actually met this week. When it's made official, Sonny Kiss and Famous B's releases are also expected to be requested.

When Fightful spoke to Cobb last month, he said he was surprised more people didn't take legal action against Lucha Underground.

"I was more shocked that it took this long for someone to do it. It was good while it was going. No clue what happened. I wish I knew what happened. If they would have been more up front and told us what was going on, I think there would have been less angry people," said Cobb.

Fightful has reached out to Cobb to confirm the story, but haven't heard back.
