Details on AEW's contract offer to Jeff Cobb.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, AEW offered Cobb a deal that would still allow him to work NJPW dates and that's where talks reportedly left off. Cobb made an appearance on the Feb. 12 episode of AEW Dynamite and made his in-ring debut on Wednesday's episode, losing to Jon Moxley. Cobb reportedly agreed to word "a few dates" for AEW, but no number was specified.
Cobb is also currently working for Ring of Honor and is advertised for shows through WrestleMania week. He has not signed a contract with ROH and is working on a per-show deal. Cobb told Fightful in 2019 that a big reason why he signed with ROH in December 2018 was Christopher Daniels' influence and ROH's working relationship with NJPW.
Daniels is currently working for AEW and the company has written in a "NJPW clause" to the contracts of guys like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks that allows them to take dates for the Japanese promotion.
