Report: Jeff Cobb Still A Free Agent After AEW Dynamite Debut, Offered A Contract By Cody Rhodes

Jeff Cobb may have appeared on AEW Dynamite recently, but there is still no guarantee that he is sticking with the company full-time.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cobb is still a free agent and he has so far only agreed to do a program with Jon Moxley. It's also reported by the Wrestling Observer that Cody has offered him a contract, but Cobb's goal is to wrestle for NJPW as much as possible.

Cobb appeared on the February 12 episode of Dynamite as the “hired hitman” brought in by AEW World Champion Chris Jericho to take on Moxley on February 19. After Moxley defeated Santana in the main event of the February 12 episode of Dynamite, Cobb made his debut for the promotion, hitting Moxley with Tour of the Islands to end the show.

When Jericho announced that Moxley would face Cobb, the video vignette introducing Cobb used footage from All Pro Wrestling and not Ring of Honor or NJPW.

Cobb had previously been wrestling for various companies and was reportedly wrestling on a show-to-show basis with ROH. Cobb last wrestled on the ROH Free Enterprise show, teaming with Dan Maff to defeat Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham. Cobb also wrestled on all five dates for NJPW's New Beginning USA tour in the past few weeks. Currently, Cobb is scheduled for multiple upcoming ROH shows, including Gateway to Honor on February 29 and Supercard of Honor on April 4.
