Jim Smallman will be devoting his time to the NXT U.K. brand.

PROGRESS Wrestling co-founder Jim Smallman announced earlier this month that at the conclusion of 2019, he will be departing from PROGRESS Wrestling. PROGRESS' last show of 2019 is their Chapter 100 event on December 30th and he'll be leaving the promotion in the hands of Jon Briley and Glen Joseph. It was noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Smallman will be devoting his time to the NXT U.K. brand which he has already been working for. Smallman has been working with NXT UK on the business and creative side and will continue doing so on a full-time basis.

NXT founder and senior producer Triple H stated during the pre-TakeOver: Toronto media call that he has not been at an NXT UK TV taping in a "significant amount of time" because he has a team to handle that for him and Jim Smallman is a part of that team.

NXT UK is on the road to their TakeOver: Cardiff show on August 31st which will be headlined by Tyler Bate versus WALTER for the WWE United Kingdom Championship.
