Report: Joey Mercury Working As A Trainer And Producer For Ring Of Honor

Joey Mercury has a full time position with a wrestling promotion again.

PWInsider has reported that Joey Matthews (known in WWE as Joey Mercury) will be working with Ring of Honor as both a trainer and a behind the scenes producer.

Ring of Honor's training school is called the "ROH Dojo" and opened in June. In the initial press release about the school, ROH listed one of the trainers as "Joey" who was an international television wrestling star with 22 years of experience. This profile could easily match Matthews. Other trainers listed by ROH besides Matthews includes Delirious, BJ Whitmer, Jonathan Gresham and Will Ferrara.

Matthews left WWE in 2015 after his run with Jamie Noble as J & J Security when they protected WWE Champion Seth Rollins at the time. Both Noble and Matthews left WWE but Matthews was the only one to continue his wrestling career post-WWE. He has wrestled as recently as House of Hardcore's event in July.

Fightful Wrestling will report if Matthew's career path changes or he appears on ROH television.
