Report: John Cena And Daniel Bryan Refusing To Work In Saudi Arabia, Conflicting Reports On Reigns' Status

Daniel Bryan and John Cena taking a stand?

WWE's Crown Jewel show is set for a November 2 broadcast date in Saudi Arabia, in the middle of major controversy surrounding the country having a journalist murdered. If a new report is to be believed, both John Cena and Daniel Bryan don't want to work the event, despite being booked.

Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports -- who has spoken to numerous WWE wrestlers on his shows in the past -- says that he's heard that Cena and Bryan are both refusing to work the event. Fox also says that he's heard that Roman Reigns is currently injured.

PWInsider, around the same time, said that Reigns missed the weekend live events because he was just given time off. Reigns is scheduled to defend his WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman on the show, while John Cena is planned to participate in the WWE World Cup. Daniel Bryan is slated to compete for the WWE Championship against AJ Styles at the show.

It's worth noting that Fightful.com was told by several wrestlers last week that they weren't comfortable wrestling on the show, but none of those members of the roster were actually booked to head overseas. WWE is planning on taking a fraction of the talent that they did for the Greatest Royal Rumble earlier this year.

WWE Crown Jewel airs on November 2 from the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, airing on the WWE Network. Assuming it goes forward as planned, Fightful.com will have full live coverage, match ratings and a live post-show podcast covering the event.
