"This is one where the confidence level is at the point where it’s being talked about more prominently, at least one idea has been talked about which would involve him at NXT," writes Meltzer.

KUSHIDA has been with NJPW since 2010 when he entered the annual Best of the Super Juniors tournament. During his time in NJPW, he's won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title six times and is a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He's also won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament on two separate occasions, won the Super J Cup in 2016, and is a former ROH Television Champion. Along with his wrestling accolades KUSHIDA competed in MMA early in his career, amassing a 6-0-2 record from 2003 to 2005.

He is currently scheduled to defend his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Kingdom 13 on Jan. 4 against Taiji Ishimori.
