A new report suggests that Major League Wrestling is looking to grow its reach with a major player in the broadcast world.
MLW has consistently been trying to grow its reach prior to and especially during the pandemic. The promotion, which has given a platform to such stars as Isaiah Scott, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Jacob Fatu, Ross and Marshall Von Erich, and more, has been hard at work acquiring deals with names such as DAZN, Fubo, and other broadcast platforms in an effort to expand its reach.
The show also airs weekly on YouTube and has a broadcast deal with beIN Sports, which airs their weekly television show every Saturday night.
Lately, Court Bauer has taken to social media to tease their further growth of the brand and potential expansions Beyond even these deals and a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider reveals that the promotion has been in discussions with Discovery about a potential broadcast agreement.
Discovery had a brief stint in the wrestling business as one of its subsidiaries, Destination America, are both IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor wrestling during the middle of the last decade.
This report also notes that Discovery was one of the entities WWE had discussions with in regards to acquiring view streaming rights of WWE Network. Of course, NBCUniversal won those rights and WWE can now be exclusively streamed in the United States of America on Peacock.
Fightful will continue to monitor the story and Report any and all updates.
