REPORT: Netflix Has Been Working On Hulk Hogan Docuseries Since 2024

A docuseries about Bollea’s life was in the works.

Pro wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Terry Bollea a.k.a. Hulk Hogan passed away at 71 years old on July 24th.

There have been a multitude of tributes from companies he’s been a part of and colleagues that he’s had throughout the course of his career. Matthew Belloni wrote about Hogan’s passing in his Puck newsletter. Belloni shared the news that before Hogan’s passing, Netflix had been filming a docuseries about Hogan’s life:

The Hulkster died mid-documentary: Hulk Hogan, who died today at 71, will be remembered for mainstreaming pro wrestling and bringing down Gawker. He also left behind an unfinished docuseries on his life that Netflix has quietly been working on since last year, per sources. Director Bryan Storkel and producer Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures have been collaborating with WWE and Hogan on the multipart series, which will include more than 20 hours of new interviews with Hogan that were shot before his passing. There’s no release date yet.

Netflix is the official broadcast home of WWE’s Monday Night Raw and the international home for WWE’s NXT and Friday Night SmackDown programs.

Fightful went live on our YouTube channel for over an hour to discuss Bollea’s passing. That can be watched here.
