According to a new report, what we saw at Sunday's Hell in a Cell PPV wasn't the original plan.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer said that Sasha Banks was planned to retain her WWE Raw Women's Championship in her hometown of Boston. At some point during the weekend, Vince McMahon had the finish changed, although the reason is unknown.
WWE is now able to move forward with a Bayley vs. Charlotte program, after Bayley was victorious on the show and later challenged Charlotte on Raw Talk. Charlotte also remains undefeated during WWE main roster PPVs.
Fightful.com has reached out to those within WWE who confirmed to us that Banks was at one point supposed to win, but at no point was it considered a set plan. The situation was considered 'up in the air' until the day of the show.
