Some unfortunate news coming to the forefront during the rumors of Mysterio possibly returning to WWE.
Since Rey Mysterio's return in the 2018 men's Royal Rumble match, there have been a plethora of rumors surrounding the legendary luchador regarding the next step in his career; primarily that step involves returning to the WWE for another run. While Mysterio seemed to be riding high, some unfortunate news has come about as Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, is reporting that Mysterio has torn his left bicep during a tag team match for the 'Northeast Wrestling' promotion.
Rey Mysterio teamed up with Flip Gordon to take on the team of Joey Mercury & Caleb Konley. Meltzer noted that there were no further details concerning the injury, but all that is known is that Mysterio possibly tore his bicep during the match. There was heavy swelling in Rey's arm according to those who saw him post-match.
The site also noted that while the match was in progress, Mysterio told Joey Mercury about the injury and Mercury was prepared to change the finish of the match. But, the former two-time World Heavyweight Champion would continue on, hitting his patented "619" for the 1,2,3.
As noted, there are no further details on the Rey Mysterio's possible torn bicep injury. As additional details come the light, we will keep you updated here on Fightful. In the meantime, head over to our injury report page, which keeps track of the injured wrestlers around the sport.
