Details on how Rusev's return was kept a secret.
On Monday's WWE Raw, Rusev returned following an extended hiatus, coming out just as Maria Kanellis was about to announce who the father of her unborn baby boy is. Maria never announced Rusev as the father and in a backstage interview, which you can view above, Rusev did not address the questions surrounding his involvement with Maria and Mike Kanellis. After making his return "The Bulgarian Brute" easily dispatched of Mike Kanellis in singles competition.
On Monday afternoon, WrestleVotes noted, "at least 1 element of the [WWE Raw] rundown is being kept secret."
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Rusev was kept hidden backstage in order to keep his return a surprise. Mike Johnson of PWInsider added that Rusev drove from Nashville, where he lives, to Knoxville, where Raw took place, to keep his return from leaking. Johnson also backs that Rusev was kept hidden backstage.
Rusev's return marked the second big return in as many nights as Luke Harper, who hadn't been on WWE TV since Worlds Collide during WrestleMania 35 weekend, returned on Sunday at Clash of Champions. It is unknown when or if Lana will return to television next to Rusev.
