According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Scott D'Amore approached Anthem with an offer to buy TNA Wrestling. D'Amore was reportedly backed by a letter with a major banking institution. His offer was rebuffed.

The report states that, from the Anthem side, "it was seen as a legitimate offer that was worthy of consideration, but the decision was made not to accept."

On Wednesday afternoon, Anthem announced that Scott D'Amore's contract with the company was terminated and he would no longer be President of TNA Wrestling. Anthony Cicione was named as his replacement.
