A name from WWE's past looks to be heading back to the promotion.
Serena Deeb, who went by just Serena during her WWE run, looks to be heading back to the promotion, PWInsider says in a report. They say she was spotted in Pittsburg, PA today, which is where WWE sends people for medical testing before offering them a contract. They note that there had been interest in resigning her as of late.
Deeb started her career in Ohio Valley Wrestling before signing with the WWE in 2009 and reporting to Florida Championship Wrestling. She first appeared on WWE television during a segment where she let CM Punk shave her head. From there, she became a big part of the Straight Edge Society alongside Luke Gallows, CM Punk and Joey Mercury until she was let go in August 2010. Reports at the time said she wasn't living up to the straight edge gimmick as a reason for her departure.
She continued to wrestle on the independent scene until 2015, when she retired. However, she returned this past summer in the Mae Young Classic, where she lost to Piper Niven in the second round. She also guest coached recently at the WWE Performance Center.
