It looks like Sonya Deville wants to broaden her horizons outside of the WWE Universe.
Variety is exclusively reporting that Sonya has signed with Imagine Artist Management. Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato, joined the WWE in 2015 participating in the same Tough Enough season has Velveteen Dream and Mandy Rose. She also made history by openly embracing her sexuality on the television show, becoming WWE's first LGBTQ+ Superstar.
Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment launched the independent Artist Management division in July of last year.
The article notes that with this career move, Sonya “will now look to expand into film and television roles,” noting the outside success of names such as Dave Bautista, John Cena, and Dwayne Johnson.
Deville is currently a member of the SmackDown roster, entangled in the Love Story between Mandy Rose and Otis. She can also be seen on season 9 of Total Divas on the E! Network.
