Report: Tommaso Ciampa Doesn’t Plan To Renew WWE Contract When It Expires

Tommaso Ciampa is reportedly exiting WWE.

According to Bodyslam+, Tommaso Ciampa’s WWE contract is coming up, and he doesn’t plan on renewing his deal.

The report states that it is unclear if Ciampa is planning to go elsewhere or wants to take time off.

Ciampa was noticeably absent from Friday’s WWE SmackDown as Johnny Gargano, Ciampa’s tag team partner, was confronted by Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom). Gargano stood behid his wife Candice LeRae in the segment, but Ciampa was nowhere to be found.

Ciampa last wrestled on the December 19th (taped on December 15) episode of WWE SmackDown, teaming with Gargano in a loss to Ilja Dragunov & Carmelo Hayes. He was chasing Dragunov and the WWE United States Championship for weeks before finally getting his title opportunity on the December 12th episode.

Tommaso Ciampa signed with WWE in 2015 and is a former NXT Champion, NXT Tag Team Champion, and WWE Tag Team Champion.
