Dillinger has been involved in backstage skits with R-Truth on recent episodes of SmackDown. The two formed a bond when R-Truth was drafted to SmackDown Live during this year's Superstar Shakeup.

Since then, they have been involved in a number of backstage skits, including Dillinger helped R-Truth with immigration and Truth giving Dillinger advice prior to the his match with Samoa Joe. Most recently, Truth was hoping to get on the SummerSlam card by beating Carmella. Instead, he lost to Shinsuke Nakamura, leaving both him and his best friend with no slot at SummerSlam.

SmackDown agent Brian "Road Dogg" James assured fans that the WWE Universe will see more of Dillinger and Truth moving forward.
