Report: Warner Bros. Discovery And Paramount Have Held Merger Talks

A big potential merger.

Axios first reported that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav met with Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish on Tuesday in New York City to discuss a possible merger. Zaslav also reported spoke to Shari Redstone, whose National Amusements Inc. owns a controlling stake in Paramount Global, about a possible combination of the companies.

Redstone has reportedly been in talks to sell her shares in NAI.

Deadline reports the talks were “all rather preliminary." Variety is also reporting talks between the two sides were held.

It is unknown how this potential merger would change the landscape of pro wrestling.

AEW programming is part of the Warner Bros Discovery family with AEW Dynamite airing on TBS and AEW Collision & AEW Rampage airing on TNT. Tony Khan stated on December 12 that he had a good meeting with WBD amid rumors and reports that WBD had talked with WWE regarding rights for WWE Raw.
