Report: Who Came Up WIth The Idea To Revive Starrcade

You won't be too surprised by who came up with reviving the Starrcade concept.

PWInsider has a report on how everything went down. It was Michael Hayes who came up with the idea, pitching it back in June when he realized that WWE would be running in Greensboro, South Carolina on Thanksgiving weekend. Vince McMahon approved the idea, and it was officially announced a few months later.

The report also says that the show was a success in that there was major interest in the show, more than usual in the area. There was also a huge response to the event on social media. There are already talks about doing another show next year.

Starrcade, which took place on Saturday, had a few special things that made the show have a more NWA-centric flair to it. Arna Anderson was ringside enforcer for a match, laying out Dolph Ziggler with a spinebuster. Goldust, for one night, returned as "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, music and all, The show was headlined by two main events, both steel cage matches, where Charlotte retained the Smackdown Women's title against Natalya and AJ Styles retained the WWE title over Jinder Mahal.
