Will Ospreay wrestled part of his Wrestle Kingdom 14 bout and New Year Dash!! 2020 match with a fractured heel.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports Ospreay suffered a fractured heel against Hiromu Takahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14 night one while performing the Sasuke special during the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title bout. It was initially believed that Ospreay suffered a broken heel or ankle, but an x-ray revealed a fracture.
Following Wrestle Kingdom 14, Ospreay posted a photo of himself with ice on his foot. He would work a multi-man tag team match at New Year Dash!! but his portion of the action was rather limited.
Despite the injury, Ospreay seemingly won't miss any time in the NJPW ring. He is scheduled to work the Road to The New Beginning Tour, which kicks off on Jan. 25 in a series of tag team matches before he clashes with Zack Sabre Jr. on Feb. 2 at The New Beginning in Sapporo.
In other Ospreay news, is was announced on Friday that he will be part of Joey Janela's Spring Break 4 and WrestleCon over WrestleMania 36 weekend.
