WrestleMania is back in business in more ways than one.
WrestleMania 37 will be the first WWE event with fans in attendance in over a year. The global pandemic would force a major shift in the way that WWE conducts business but WWE would shift gears and innovate, allowing them to never miss a week of production.
Now, as vaccinations become more common and the world begins its slow return to normalcy, WrestleMania looks to make history with the largest gathering for a sports or entertainment event since the start of the pandemic.
As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and later confirmed by Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports, WWE is looking to have up to 45,000 fans in attendance for each night of WrestleMania 37 which will be held inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
For reference, maximum capacity for the stadium is 65,890.
The Super Bowl which was held in the same venue, allowed up to 25,000 fans to attend with 7,500 of those being vaccinated healthcare workers. As of now, WWE has not announced whether WrestleMania will implicate a similar method where healthcare workers receive priority.
In late September, as part of phase three of Florida's reopening, Governor Ron DeSantis lifted attendance restrictions at sporting events, allowing sports stadiums to run at full capacity. As of now, no franchise has taken advantage of this order.
