Report: WWE Bans Buckle Bomb From Being Used In Future Bouts

WWE is banning one of Seth Rollins’ former signature moves.

Over the years, many maneuvers have been banned from being used on WWE television most infamously, the piledriver. Now you can add the Buckle Bomb to that list.

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE made the decision to ban the maneuver recently, citing that Kairi Sane was injured after taking a form of this move from Nia Jax a few weeks back.

Back at Night of Champions 2015, Seth Rollins accidentally injured Sting in their WWE Championship match that headlined that evening. Sting has not wrestled since. Rollins also accidentally injured Finn Balor by using an outside version of this maneuver at the 2016 WWE SummerSlam event.

Because it is banned currently does not mean that it will never return. As many remember, Seth Rollins’ Stomp finisher was also banned leading to him using the pedigree for over a year, before switching to a ripcord knee strike, and then using The Stomp once again.

Over the years, other moves have been banned such as the shooting star press and the piledriver. Much like the Curb Stomp, the shooting star press is no longer banned.
