WWE has reportedly pushed back the date of the next Saudi Arabia event to Thursday, Feb. 27.
The date originally penciled in was Feb. 20, but in an update, Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports that the "preliminary date" has been moved back by a week. The report also states "creative for the event has not been locked in."
WWE was last in Saudi Arabia on Oct. 31 for Crown Jewel. The event featured the first WWE women's match in Saudi Arabia as Natalya took on Lacey Evans. Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar and Tyson Fury vs. Braun Strowman were also on the card. Previous events have included the Greatest Royal Rumble, World Cup matches to decide the Best In The World, and matches featuring legends such as Goldberg vs. Undertaker and the in-ring return of Shawn Michaels.
Crown Jewel wasn't without its post-event controversy as WWE superstars were stranded in Saudi Arabia following the event due to reported mechanical issues with the plane. Fortunately, superstars made is back to the United States safely after spending an extra day in Saudi Arabia.
On Nov. 4, WWE and Saudi General Entertainment Authority announced they were expanding their partnership.
